Worried About
Liquidity?
Don't
be!
The one question we get asked more
than any other is about the lack of liquidity on
Betfair for outsiders. Many people doubt that they will be
able to profit from our service because our results
mean that we will eventually become a victim of our own
success and that the value we spot will be eroded by too much
money forcing down the prices of our selections. This has not
been and will not be the case for the following reasons:-
-
We limit our subscribers to a manageable level and
close the doors when the limit is reached. We
did this following our very successful Cheltenham
in March and did not re-open until mid-June.
-
We do not offer anything less than a 3 month
subscription and will never offer a free trial.
This deters the freeloaders and the
tyre-kickers and means that our selections are
backed in the main by genuine subscribers
with the patience and discipline to make them work.
-
We do however have lean months, it is simply the
nature of backing long shots, and we usually find a
few people cancelling their subscriptions when this
happens. Indeed we have had the
occasional punter, having signed up for a full
3 month subscription, cancelled within days
presumably because we did not show a profit inside
72 hours!! This is how the doors to new subscribers
are re-opened.
-
We recommend a 250 point betting bank for use with
our selections. To bet £25 on each selection
you would need a bank of £6250. Even on very big
priced outsiders in the UK there is usually a
minimum of about £2750 matched. It follows that we
could have over 100 subscribers betting at this
level of liquidity, assuming they all had banks of
£6k plus. Not only would we never allow anything
like that many subscribers, we doubt the average
betting bank is anywhere near £6k per subscriber.
