Frequently Asked
Questions
Q. Why don’t you offer a free trial?
A. There are a number of reasons for this. Firstly we don’t need to because our results
speak for themselves. Secondly we can’t quite see what a free trial would prove. Our selections are high
priced and a good deal of patience is required along with the ability to see past losing runs. Of course we
could do what the majority of tipsters do and offer you a one, two or even a four week trial in the hope that
we have a big winner and that this convinces you to sign up and pay us some money. However we believe such
trials are a gimmick designed to part you from your cash. No service can be effectively tested over such a
short period. We expect to make a profit over the long term not week to week or even month to
month.
Q. Is Paypal the only method of
payment?
A. Paypal is certainly our preferred
option but we will consider alternatives. Contact Us for more
details
Q. How do I sign up?
A. Simply go to the subscription page and choose either the
1,3,6 or 12 month options. All subscriptions are handled by PayPal.
Q. What happens after I have signed up via
PayPal?
A. We will add your PayPal email address to our mailing list which is operated by
GetResponse. An email containing a confirmation link will be sent to you within 24 hours. Once you click the
link you will be set up to receive our daily selections email.
Q. How do I receive the selections?
A. We send a daily email containing the selections
by 11am at the latest, although most days it is around
7am – slightly later at weekends due to more racing to
analyse.
Q. Do you provide analysis of your
selections?
A. Quite simply no! Having subscribed to tipping services ourselves, we get very irritated
when after a winner there is a load of self praise and then excuse after excuse when the inevitable losing
run occurs. Our email contains just the selections – no self praise and no
excuses!
Q. Do you recommend a staking plan?
A. Wouldn't it be great if we could predict exactly when the winners will come and avoid
those inevitable losing runs? In July 2010 we managed to tip not one but two winners at Betfair SP's of about
33-1. Fantastic I am sure you'll agree but most people don't have the patience to wait for days like that.
They have no staking plan and bet with money they cannot afford to lose. We use a 250 point bank and bet to
level stakes. That means you need a £1000 bank to bet £4 on each selection. We do however know of subscribers
who operate 100, 150 and 200 point banks. It really is a matter of balancing risk with reward and choosing
something you are comfortable with. Scared money never wins and the higher the number of points, the less
likely you are to get scared! It goes without saying that if your whole bankroll consists
of money you cannot afford to lose, it is scared money right from the word go. Quite simply don't bet
with it - it will end in tears.
Q. Do you only use Betfair?
A. Absolutely! You can see from our results that our selections make huge returns at
Betfair prices compared to bookmakers SP. The time may come when other exchanges catch up with Betfair and it
may be worth looking at Betdaq or WBX in the future. For now though we recommend only using Betfair. If you
do not have an account yet you can sign up here and claim a £25 free bet by entering the Betfair Promotional Code DWEA7FRHG.
Q. Do you recommend taking a price on Betfair or using Betfair
SP?
A. We monitor the market and attempt to get the best price. Most of the time this allows us
to get matched at better prices than Betfair SP. However all our results are quoted to Betfair SP as this is
the price available to everyone and there is no need to monitor the markets in order to achieve the results
we quote. Our selections are sent in time for most people to bet at Betfair SP before going to work, if they
so wish.
Q. On your results at Racing Index there are quite a number of each way selections. Do you
bet each way?
A. No – “each way” is a bookmaking term whereby the payout on a place is dependent entirely
on the SP and the type of race. Each way is not available on Betfair who instead operate win and place
markets which are independent of each other. We bet win only unless the price on the Betfair place market is
30.0 or above, in which case we bet an ADDITIONAL point on a place. There is no real way of representing this
on Racing Index, although we have tried various methods including starting off proofing everything each way
and then just those which we thought might well hit 30.0 on the Betfair place market. We have now decided to
proof everything to Racing Index win only, in the belief that the important thing is showing that we did
actually tip the selection.
Q. What should be staked when there is more than 1 selection in a
race?
A. We stake 1 point on each regardless of how many selections there
are.
