Laying Horses To Lose On Betfair Won't Make You Rich!

In December 2007 we made a video which compared backing and laying services which proofed to Racing Index and exposed the myth that there were great profits to be made by laying horses on Betfair. Because at that time Racing Index insisted on showing results at bookmakers' SP for backing services and at just SP plus a measly and unrealistic 5% for laying services.

This had the effect of making it appear that in general laying services were far more profitable than their backing competitors, whilst the reality was that the odds which were available to layers were much higher than both they and Racing Index would have had us believe.

Since 1st June 2008 Racing Index made the sensible decision to proof both types of service at Betfair SP prices less 5% commission.

Much lower profits than were previously being indicated and only 4 of the first table have made the latest top ten.
